5,000+ Players Trained
Solo hitting trainer. Built by a D1 player.

Tee work builds bad habits.

A tee teaches your kid to hit a ball that isn't moving. Real pitches move. The Hitting Rope is the only solo trainer that teaches kids to track a moving ball. Anywhere you can hang a rope.

Why It Works

Three things a tee
can't do.

01

Train the eye.

The ball swings back at real pitch speed. Your kid's brain has to track it to hit it. That's the one skill tee work doesn't teach.

02

Build the swing.

Hang it up, swing into a net, it comes right back. Sixty seconds to set up. Works in a backyard, a garage, a cage. No partner needed.

03

Own the reps.

Two hundred swings between dinner and bedtime is normal with this. The kids who love it are the ones who were already going to find a way to take more reps.

Tee work builds mechanics. But it doesn't teach your brain to track a moving ball. The Hitting Rope hangs from any batting cage, tree branch, or overhead structure. Hit the ball into a net — it swings back like a pendulum for the next rep. Every swing, your brain is tracking a...

Watch it work.

Hang it. Hit it. The ball swings back. That's the whole drill. The rest is your kid deciding they want to take 200 more swings before dinner.

Common Questions

Questions I get
from parents.

Straight answers, not marketing. If yours isn't here, email jake@hittingrope.com. I read everything and usually reply the same day.

What ages is it for?

It's built for kids 5 to 12. That's the window where hitters make the jump from tee work to tracking a moving ball, and it's where the rope helps most. Younger kids can use it with supervision. Older kids (13+) will outgrow the rep count fast, but a lot of them still use it for quick warm ups before practice.

Where can I hang it?

Anywhere overhead. The carabiner clips to a batting cage frame, a tree branch, a garage beam, a swing set, or a backyard fence post. Sixty seconds to set up. No drilling, no hardware, no permanent installation. If you can hang it, you can hit off it.

Baseball or softball, which one should I get?

Whichever sport your kid plays. If they play both (which a lot of younger kids do), start with baseball. The smaller ball is harder to track, so it builds the skill faster. The softball version is a great fit for the 8U to 14U fastpitch track.

How long does it last? What if it breaks?

The rope is built to handle thousands of full swings. If it snaps, the carabiner fails, or the ball tears, email me and I'll ship you a replacement. No receipt needed. I've been running this policy across 5,000+ units, and it works.

Does my kid need a coach to use it?

No. That's the whole point. The rope is the partner. You hang it up, your kid hits into a net, the ball swings back, they swing again. No parent tossing, no coach, no setup between reps. The kids who love this are the ones who want extra swings and couldn't get them any other way.

How fast does it ship?

3 to 5 business days anywhere in the U.S., free. Orders ship from Washington the next business day after you order. No expedited option. 3 to 5 days is the fastest I can do while keeping shipping free.

What Players’ Parents Say

Kids train harder when they stop missing.

4.4 average across 150+ verified Amazon reviews
Perfect to practice batting for my sons. Fun and great batting practice for my 6 and 3 year old baseball lovers.
Good batting practice for my 7 year old in his first year of coach pitch. He loves it and uses it every single day.
My 8 year old grandson loves the hitting rope baseball that he received for his birthday. Best gift we could have given him.
Built By A Player

The drill I wish existed when I was learning to hit.

I played D1 baseball at Yale. Over the years I watched a lot of young players struggle with the same thing. It wasn't their mechanics. It was that tee work never taught them to track a moving ball, and the moment a real pitch showed up, everything fell apart.

Tee work has its place. But a ball sitting still is not a pitch. Kids need reps against something that moves, and most of them don't have a coach or a parent with the time to throw to them every day. That's the gap The Hitting Rope fills. Solo reps. A real moving ball. Anywhere you can hang a rope.

"The simplest way to train the skill most youth hitters never develop."

— Jake Gehri, Founder. Former D1 Baseball Player.
