Inside A Hitters Mind
Tee Work
Hitters seeing live pitching after only tee work caused a lot of neural noise in the brain (the volatile horizpntal lines before the third vertical red line). More neural noise leads to a less efficient athlete.
Soft Toss
Hitters who took front toss before seeing live pitching elicited far less neural noise. Athletes who elicit less noise during brain activity are more efficient with their allocation of brain resources and can perform at their most optimal levels.
